


George G. Campion (Of Counsel) was admitted to practice in New Jersey and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey in 1988 and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals in 1991. Mr. Campion focuses his practice on civil litigation in trial and appellate courts and in mediations. He has represented employers sued for employment discrimination, lawyers, accountants and insurance brokers sued for malpractice, government agencies sued in Title 59 cases and insurers in coverage litigation. He has represented businesses and individuals in commercial disputes and real estate disputes. He has experience litigating claims of infliction of emotional distress, including one trial at which he defeated claims by plaintiffs, who said they suffered emotional distress as a result of exposure to stray electricity from a public utility’s power generation.
Mr. Campion graduated magna cum laude from Seton Hall University School of Law where he was a member of the Seton Hall Law Review in 1986 and 1987 and symposium editor of the Law Review in 1987 and 1988. He authored The Unavailing Defense: Psychological Disability and Attorney Misappropriation in New Jersey, 18 Seton Hall L. Rev. 643 (1988). After graduating from Fordham College in 1969, he studied at the Institut d’Études Politiques in Paris and received the Certificat d’Études Politiques in 1971.
Before going to law school, Mr. Campion worked as a newspaper reporter for the Asbury Park Press, much of the time covering state and federal courts, violent crime and organized crime. In 1982, he won the New Jersey Press Association Enterprise Reporting Award as the lead reporter on a special section in the Asbury Park Press, called “West Side Story,” about a crime-ridden, poverty-stricken section of Asbury Park. In 1983, he was on a team of reporters, who earned the New Jersey Press Association’s Interpretive Reporting Award for a profile on serial killer Richard Biegenwald. While at law school, he was the senior editor of the New Jersey Law Journal. In 2006 and 2007, he was an associate editor of the American Bar Association’s Litigation News. In the 1989-90 school year, Mr. Campion was on the adjunct faculty at the Seton Hall University School of Law as a legal writing instructor. Mr. Campion has been the secretary treasurer of the Brennan Inn of Court, now the Brennan Vanderbilt Inn of Court, since 1991 and has taught courses for pupils of the Inn on civil litigation. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Essex County Bar Association.
